MPIGI, UGANDA

Projects

The goal of our projects is to help aid in creating a self-sustainable way of living for the men and women of Mpigi, prioritizing the members of Redeemed Bible Church. Every project we have will provide an opportunity for employment and steady income, taking away the reliance on partners and donors in the USA and Australia financially. However, we are still in the process of these projects being completed and fully functional. We have already seen success in some of them and appreciate any help in completing them all.

  • The Sister ETC Restaurant was started in 2023 as a way to provide single mothers with employment. Today, it is a place known for delicious local dishes, gatherings, and times of fellowship. The Restaurant currently employs 10 women, allowing for them to gain a steady income to provide for their families. Each of these women have an incredible testimony of how God intervened and changed their life, and we are honored to feast with them when in Mpigi!

  • Over the last few years, we have been growing maze as a way to provide food for many families in the Church and community. Once we realized the opportunity to expand this project, we were able to purchase a milling machine through donations from our partners. We can now package and sell maze flower, which is a high value item in Uganda. We will also use this maze to feed all of the chickens for the chicken coop project. The Mill will provide employment for 3-5 women, so that they are able to have a steady income.

  • The chicken coop project is currently incomplete but will be one of the biggest projects we have and will provide employment for so many men and women. We have the land and dirt we need to begin this project, but we are still in need of the machinery that will help move the dirt, and level it out. Once this project is up and running, it will be the main source of income for Redeemed Bible Church and many of the members will have the opportunity to be employed through this project.

  • Mushrooms are a true delicacy in Mpigi, and are in high demand. The difficulty of having the facilities necessary to grow them is the biggest obstacle. We have built two buildings equipped for growing the mushrooms, one in which is functional. It currently employs 4 women. We are able to also sell these mushrooms as a popular dish at the Sisters ETC Restaurant.

  • Currently, there are over 100 kids at Redeemed Bible Church. The majority of these children are in single-parent households. All schools in Mpigi, even public schools require tuition. Most parents prefer a boarding school where they know their child will have food, clothing, and a roof over their head along with the education provided. It costs anywhere from $200-$400 US per term, which is 90 days. This is simply out of the question for most parents. By sponsoring a child not only are you able to provide education, uniforms, meals, and school supplies, you are also playing a major role in breaking the generational cycle of poverty.

  • The costs of tuition at every school in Mpigi is almost impossible for most parents to pay. We want to provide affordable tuition so that more children have access to education. Our school will also be the first and only Christian school in Mpigi, as now most schools are built on Islamic values. This will give us an opportunity to not only provide education to these kids, but a solid foundation of the Word of God. Potentially, the next generation of pastors, missionaries, and leaders could arise from our school. We currently are in the process of securing the land where the school will be, and have already began to clear and level it.

  • On any given day, there around anywhere from 10-15 residing in Pastor Brian’s home with his family. Many people come to their home in the late-night hours, or early mornings needing a place of safety and desiring prayer. They have always had an open-door policy for anyone in need, however recently it has brought about security and safety issues, along with a very obvious lack of privacy for their children. We have begun working on building a house specifically for the women who need a place to go, are currently in the midst of deliverance, or adoptive children Brian and his wife has taken in. They are also responsible for the food, clothes, and any medical expenses that these people may need. Especially considering almost all of these women are single mothers with young children, or who are pregnant.

  • Originally, Pastor Brian had speakers set up outside the church that would be used to share the messages and sermons into the community, which is very common within Ugandan communities. Because of the area the church is in, many organizations that practice witchcraft complained to the chairman, and the speakers were taken down. Pastor Brian will be able to record and release sermons, messages, and announcements through a podcast that will be shared all throughout the country, spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This room will be connected to the women’s house that is currently being built
